Well I’ve christened my new Guinness ‘The Brewers Project’ glass this evening with some Guinness Original XX of which I’ve several 440ml cans and 500ml bottles.
I can’t really tell if there is any difference (but enjoying the research) so far.
So what’s peoples preferences?

Bottle, always bottle.

I’ve heard the cans have different composition than the bottles, but in general I get bottles

Bottles, even soda taste better in a bottle. Only downside is you can’t shotgun a bottle.

I’ve had some good cans both with and without a widget in my time. Guinness Draught from a can is very pleasant indeed while Guinness Foreign Export is something I can only drink from a bottle.

Hmm, not sure. Better send me one of each for independent testing.

I’ve never really thought about it much till now.

I enjoy drinking from bottles because it feels nicer to me, taste wise its the same, but holding a bottle and pouring it in a glass is a much nicer experience in my mind.

I miss the old regular Guinness bottles, they were great, expensive but great.

Specifically Guinness cans vs bottles, otherwise I think it’s the same. I might be thinking draft vs can/bottle though, and being in Britain it m8ght not be the case

You can with a straw. Put a straw in down to the bottom and fold the end outside the bottle and woof, off you go. Been doing it that way since I was 14.

I’m a Guinness drinker mostly but have drank Pale Ales and Bitters from both cans and bottles.
And a few 5 litre kegs of Old Speckled Hen of course granted the bottle tasted much better than the keg or can.

22 bottle, 12 can - lots of craft folks are using cans now.

You drink beer from a straw? HERETIC

Both cans and bottles have come a long way over the years and ye’, many craft breweries are doing both. It doesn’t help me in that my work place has them on four bottles for £5 so I’m getting through them and the multi packs of cans.

Lol. No you put the straw inside and then fold the remainder of the straw down the outside, the straw allows the air to flow in and the beer to flow out the neck of the bottle down your throat.

Perplexing. I’ll have to try this tomorrow

Draught are good but not many ales are draught. Very few.

It should always be from a bottle

Nice. I’ve never heard of anyone doing that in the states.

Generations have thought and tested the best ways to get alcohol down your throat as fast as possible. Beer bongs are the best. Used to do indoor Olympics (element of outside also), down a bong of beer, run outside, climb the drainpipe into the bathroom, jump from the top of a flight of stairs to the floor (without touching a step, oh and without breaking your leg or neck), classic student antics.

That accent - holy mother of god. I can’t even do it after two watches. It’s excellent. Irish, but not. Scottish, a little. Southern, yes. NE, sorta. Wow.
Also - nice tech for beer doing. Wish I had that in my younger years.

Everything but Guinness is a great start.

I’m okay with that as it leaves more for me. :)
